This basic 3-axis educational delta robot is based on a simplified Monoprice 3d printer frame combined with our IB01R1 interface board. The design targets the lowest-cost approach to an educational platform that showcases 3-axis coordinated delta-robot motion. The system is capable of learning motion-sequence "Macros" via user-defined waypoints, and alternatively can operate in manual-control mode with on-the-fly changes based on user input via keyboard jog buttons or a 3DConnexion space mouse. With our upcoming smart-camera and conveyor modules, we are planning to configure this robotic module along with others for more advanced vision-based sorting and pick-and-place behaviors. Please see videos for further examples of behavior and performance.
